 "great idea, poorly made" 2009-11-17
By Melinda (Goshen, CT)
I purchased this seat for my son about a year ago. As I write this today it is completely cracked. The "seat" area is cracked and the "hybak" has cracked so much that a piece of it has broken off. I had the original cooshee seat for my daughter for 6+ years with no problem. It still looks like new! but this new model has been awful. Very unhappy with it. Would not recommend it to anyone

"2 Years On and Going Strong" 2009-10-05

Have been using this for 2 years now, every day, on finished wooden dining room chairs. I have the lime green colored seat, which is a color I don't believe is currently available. No issues whatsoever. It actually looks like it does the day we bought it. No cracking, peeling, or bending of the booster seat material, nor any staining of furniture as some reviewers have mentioned. I do remove the booster and wipe it off in the sink after just about every meal, so perhaps people with furniture problems are just leaving the seat on the chair for weeks at a time without removing it to clean it? I'm rarely impressed with any child products, and am usually disappointed with them, but this booster is impressive and my daughter should be growing out of it just in time for my son to "inherit" it!

 "Would never purchase again" 2009-09-14
By tuesdaymarie
We have three of these boosters. I'm very surprised at how many 5 star ratings these have gotten and am wondering if most people just rated the item within the first few days/weeks of receiving it.

We bought these boosters a bit over a year ago.

The things I LOVE about them are:

They stay in place on the seat.

They have no cracks, crevices, holes, gaps or grooves where food and crumbs can collect.

Very simple to clean.

Comfortable for the kids.

They have no belts (I find belts annoying).

They are lightweight and easily moved from one place (home or chair) to another.

The things I DESPISE about them are:

They permanently damage expensive furniture.

They fall apart within a year, and NO $50 booster seat should fall apart in a year's time.

Because these seats are made of dense, anti-slipping foam material, which is a REAL plus because you do not have to strap it to your chair, it has the adverse side-effect of adhering so tightly to the seat of your chair that it creates a bond with whatever is on your chair - varnish, paint, etc. Break that bond = ruin the finish on your chair. All three of my chairs are ruined. Like another reviewer said, these $50 seats will cost us hundreds in the end when it's time to fix our furniture. That is unacceptable, to me. There should have been some warning to that effect on the product.

The other thing that upsets me is the fact that my boosters are falling apart. Because they are foam, they harden somewhat over time, and the creases that will eventually form in the new seats - along the backs, sides, etc. - slowly turn into deep creases, then tears, which then quickly turn into large rips. SO large that on one my seats a chunk was dangling from the side, and on another seat the base of the seat was nearly disconnected from the back. I had to purchase foam glue, which gave me temporary results but even that's starting to fizzle away and the boosters are breaking apart again.

My children do not stand on their boosters, jump on them or mistreat them in anyway. They just sit in them like children are supposed to, and use the sides and backs to support them as is intended. Still, they are falling apart. (And they look awful).

For the $150 I spent on these, PLUS the shipping, I am frankly disgusted that they have lasted a bit more than ONE YEAR and have ruined my furniture. Most boosters can last an entire family's worth of children, and even into the next generation! These...no.

I will never, ever recommend these to anyone and once these are shot, I will never purchase them again. I am going to stick with the one-piece plastic boosters that will cost me 20 something dollars and last forever.

 "Worth every penny!" 2009-09-12

My son loves, loves, loves this seat. He couldn't wait to jump in (to my shear happiness!) ... Mealtime has become less of struggle now that the high-chair has gone the way of all flesh! lol

He carries this around, watches his Blues Clues in it (it's his "thinking chair"). It's light and portable enough to bring to restaurants and when visiting! Doesn't damage furniture, and sticks very well to any non-fabric surface. No sliding folks! Just a super-fantastic seat!

 "wonderful chair for toddlers!" 2009-09-02

Great chair to use for your child to transition from a highchair but is not yet ready to sit at the table on a regular chair. This booster stays in place and is very easy to clean. I like that it comes with a storage bag, too.
